**Our companions MUST live in your home as part of your family.
**We WILL NOT adopt homes with unaltered dogs or cats.
**We WILL NOT adopt to homes that keep dogs outside.
The Adoption Process
Fill out the below Adoption Application and submit it. You will receive a call from a volunteer to schedule a "home visit," usually with one of their own dogs, to evaluate the environment and answer your questions.
Once the "home visit" is completed, you will be called when the right dog for you becomes available.
Before going home with you, your dog will have the following completed:
Occult heartworm check
Standard yearly vaccine
Rabies vaccine
Bordatella vaccine
Sterilization surgery
Worming (when needed)
Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida Inc. Dedicated to RESCUE, REHABILITATE, REHOME and RETURN Boston Terriers. The adoption fee is only $260, payable to Boston Terrier Rescue of Florida. If you were to have these procedures done by your veterinarian, the comparable cost would far exceed this.
Remember, it may take several weeks to co-ordinate all of this, so please be patient!
After the adoption, a rescue volunteer will call to check on you, and will be available to you if you have any questions or concerns. Our goal is to make this adoption successful!
Any additional donation you would like to make to Boston Terrier Rescue, either now or in the future, is greatly appreciated and is tax deductible.
A Word Of Caution
Boston Terriers do not tolerate heat or cold very well. If you have a yard and want to leave them out for short periods of time, be sure there is shade and water... but, be vigilant, it does not take long for tragedy to happen. Lastly, Boston Terriers should never be walked without a leash. They do not understand the dangers of traffic and they cannot be caught when running at full speed. Their sense of fun and pursuit of freedom can quickly turn to disaster.
Remember
Ownership is a full-time job, so please do not consider making this commitment unless you are ready to make the necessary compromises to your lifestyle.
Please note that only completely filled out forms can be processed. Incomplete forms will be discarded. If for any reason you can not fill in a field, enter none or N/A, eg if you have had no previous pets, enter "none" in all related fields. Or if you have no work phone number, enter "none." Failure to do so will result in your submission being marked incomplete and cause it not to be processed!
Dear Potential Adopters:
Please remember that a lot of work will go into your application before you actually adopt a dog. If you are not serious or do not have patience to wait for the right dog DO NOT FILL THIS APPLICATION OUT! If there is any chance of you going to the paper or a pound or anywhere else to get a puppy or get a dog in the next two weeks, DO NOT FILL THIS APPLICATION OUT! You are only wasting a tremendous amount of volunteer time and we would rather spend that time on helping serious adopters. Most of us have full-time jobs and give up our free time to help this wonderful rescue organization out.
If you don't have time to fill out the online application, we have provided you with a Downloadable Application you can print and fill out at your leisure. You must have Adobe® ReaderTM installed on your computer to do this. Please return a signed copy of the application form via regular mail. We also ask that you consider enclosing a small donation which helps with the costs associated with the processing of these applications.
